Project Spotlight Concrete Demolition

Project Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas

Project Task: Concrete demolition and removal of 6,000 sq. feet of interior slab.
Project Date: July 2-3, 2016

Project Details: On this industrial concrete demolition project we were called in to execute an expedited removal of 6,000 square feet of interior slab. In order to provide minimal interruptions to normal business operations this project had to be completed in two days over the 4th of July weekend.

In order to meet the tight deadline we staged three expert operators along with three remote control demolition robots. The machinery used was a BROKK 100, BROKK 160 and Husqvarna DXR310. Everything went smoothly and the project was completed on time and on budget thanks to a coordinated team effort with the facility engineers, the general contractor and the hard work of our amazing crew.

Our choice in machinery provided maximum safety and production while also producing no emissions which is ideal for interior work such as this. Because this facility specializes in food processing it was critical to complete the scope of work very quickly in order to avoid adversely impacting plant production goals. Our tasks on this project included the following:

Saw cut the concrete slab
Remove and haul the concrete slab

Project Task: Excavate 10' deep below interior slab and back-fill for an expedited plumbing repair
Project Date: May 14, 2016

Project Details: On this project for Quality Plumbing, Inc. we were called in to assist with an expedited commercial plumbing repair. In order to provide minimal interruptions to normal business operations this project had to be completed on a Saturday.

In order to meet the tight deadline we coordinated all of the layout work with Quality Plumbing prior to the scheduled Saturday scope of work. Everything went smoothly and the project was completed on time and on budget thanks to a coordinated team effort with Quality Plumbing and the hard work of our amazing crew.

In order to maximize efficiency we made use of our BROKK 400 and several electric wheelbarrows. Our choice in machinery provided maximum safety and production while also producing no emissions which is ideal for interior work such as this. Our tasks on this project included the following:

Saw cut the concrete slab
Remove and haul the concrete slab
Excavate to approximately 10' deep
Remove and haul the excavated dirt
Supply and place the back-fill aggregate
Grade the back-fill and prep for the pour back
Thorough clean up inside and out

Project Spotlight Concrete Wall Sawing

Project Location: Kansas City
Project Type: Commercial
Project Task: Concrete Wall Sawing, 15 each 2' x 7' Window Cut Outs In Precast Concrete
Project Date: April 16, 2016

Project Details: On this project for Jonkman Construction we cut out 15 each 2′ x 7′ window openings in just one day. The wall material was 6″ thick pre-cast concrete. Remote control track mounted saws were used for the vertical cuts, hydraulic hand saws were used for the horizontal cuts and the corner cuts were finished off with hydraulic chain saws to prevent having to over-cut the corners.

On this project it was necessary to complete all required tasks on a single Saturday shift. This entailed cutting and removing each window hole as well as framing and securing each new opening with plywood. Finally, all clean-up and debris had to be removed with the site left ready for the installation of all new windows.

In order to meet the tight deadline we coordinated all of the layout work with the General Contractor prior to the scheduled Saturday scope of work. Everything went smoothly and the project was completed on time and on budget thanks to the input of Jonkman Construction and the hard work of our amazing crew.

In order to maximize efficiency we made use of 3 man lifts, 1 telehandler and 2 remote-controlled track saws. We also kept men staged inside the structure to make sure that any water entering the building would be kept under control and that all interior clean up would be fully handled as the job progressed.
